I wanted some suggestions for good guestbook providers. I am tired of the one I have at GROWL that is a spam-magnet and currently literally not viewable because of the spam clogging it.
I have heard that Bravenet is good, but I thought I'd ask you all (in the odd chance that you still surf by). I know for sure that I want one now where I can verify entries before they are posted. It's not that I won't allow criticisms of the ship, but just so as not to put up the endless and stupid spam. Stupid anti-ship posts in teh guestbook can be left there so we can all point and laugh.
Something else: I would like to change the color scheme of GROWL and eliminate the need for a spash page (read: no more "index2" page). I am taking suggestions for colors!

I'm afraid I'm no help when it comes to guestbooks. As for color schemes, I definitely prefer dark text on a white/light background. Text on a dark background hurts my eyes and is difficult for me to read. I realize this is a matter of some debate, but in other places where I've seen the debate, the dark-on-light folks seem to be in the majority.
Frankly, I like the boring but reliable black text on a white background. I figure you can use banners and frames and other graphics to add pretty. A Gryffindor scheme might be nice if you could find a strong enough gold color. Another possibility would be fall colors: browns, greys, reds, oranges. They'd invoke wolf colors as well as Ginny's hair.

I have no idea about guestbooks, sorry, I'm glad you're back aika by the way! I prefer the dark text on light background, and I'm in on Sam's comment about fall colours, and the Gryffindor too, but some earthy tones wouldnt hurt either like forest green, brown and such... that's how I see it by the way.

Thanks for the feedback. I've started making some changes to the site, and will continue to do random "improvements". I have learned how to make CSS (cascading style sheets) in one of my courses this semester, and the power is amazing! With one sheet, I can make changes over the entire site quickly and easily. So, some things I've been thinking of doing, I can get to.
Thanks for being patient and sticking with me, even if I haven't been all that much around lately.
