OK, so let's talk about the most 'canon' coupling in HP ~ Ron and Hermione.
Do you think Ron belongs with Hermione? Why or why not?
If not, who would you like to see them with?

Yes, they belong together. I think it's the whole opposites attract thing. And truth be told, even though Ron comes off like an idiot quite a bit, both in canon and fanon, he's got the makings to be a very powerful wizard. I also think he's one of those guys that "needs" to be taken care of. And who better to do that than "Little Miss Fix-It."

OK, I voted yes, but that's kind of a two fold yes...
I think Hermione belongs with a Weasley, but not necessarily Ron. I've read fantastic stories that ship her with either Fred or George, and thanks to our very own aikakone, also believe in Bill/Hermione (if you have no idea what I'm talking about, check out some of her other stories either at FF.net or FA).
I do, however, LOATHE the notion of Harry/Hermione. That just DOES NOT work for me, kind of like Remus/Hermione. To me, they are both just 'flat' couplings, but if you believe in these ships, I'm sorry if I offended.
As for Ron, well, I don't see him returning Luna's affections, and we really don't know enough about the Patil sisters or Lavendar. So other than Hermione, I don't know who he'd be best with.
Anyway, that's it for now!

Harry/Hermione is just ick to me. Also, Hermione with Remus or even Sirius is ick to me. Personally, I don't know that she is 100% okay with the werewolf thing, and she definitely doesn't agree with Sirius' treatment of Harry. In my own story, I wrote her with Fred. I could very easily see her with either twin. Not so sure about the Bill thing. I'll have to go read to see if I likey.
I don't see Ron with anyone else. Hence, he was perpetually single in my story.

I usually ship Ron/Hermione for the tying of loose ends.
However, I can see Ron as a schwinging bachelor with balding hair and a pot belly. Hermione would be dully sensible and marry a dependable man with an intellect that rivals her own and always knows the right joke to tell at a wake.

I also think he's one of those guys that "needs" to be taken care of. And who better to do that than "Little Miss Fix-It." Eek! To me this seems like a good reason for Hermione to cut bait and run. I think she'd want a life partner, not an overgrown child for a husband. I've said this in another thread, but I just don't think Ron and Hermione have enough in common for a long-term relationship to work out. The attraction may be there, but you need a lot more than that for your relationship to last.

I really appreciated this little plug when you first posted it. I've been working my sneaky ways and have been trying to bring LupinFan227 over to the dark side that is Bill/Hermione. I think it's been working! Meanwhile, I just posted up my first Ron/Fleur fic, so I'm just writing this giant "partner swap" over at FFN.

Yeah, okay. I admit it. I have enjoyed the Bill/Hermione that I've read. Granted, they've all been yours. I'm not too sure if there is another "sicko" out there besides you. (You know I'm kidding.)
But seriously, someone said they saw Hermione with a man of equal intellect. So, keeping that in mind, what about Hermione/Percy?

I think it's been working! Not a problem! I know it took you a while to open my eyes and twist my arm, so glad I could help! I don't like the Percy character, especially after what he did in book 5, so unless he does something to redeem himself in my eyes in books 6 or 7, I don't like the idea of him and Hermione. But, on a side note, when I did like Percy, I always had him with Penelope Clearwater...

Actually, I find the idea of Hermione and Percy together a snore. Yes, he's smart, but he's also snooty. The other brothers are much more affable.

I believe that Ron and Hermione belong together. Not for the fact that "he's a child who needs to be taken care of and she can take care of him" or whatever. She can be herself around him. Hermione can yell at him and joke with him and be Miss Perfect or not so Miss Perfect around him. With Harry, though I love their best friend relationship, she's hesitant. She won't yell at Harry or vent her frustrations to him. She hesitates. She can't let Harry know when she's angry or doesn't want him to do something. Hermione knows when she fights with Ron that he'll still be there, by her side, (excluding 3rd year). With Harry she's afraid he won't want to be her friend, that he'll leave her.. She can depend on Ron. Oh yes, and there's sexual tension And I just totally wrote all that for no reason. *sigh*
